Waxman Fibres open day seminars in early September proved a huge success. It was the first of its kind hosted over a 3 day period. The initial 2 days were for end users, to provide Health and Safety Specifiers, Procurement Personnel and Wearers of PPE fully up to date with the latest developments in Industrial Workwear for Heat, Flame and Arc hazards. Targeting people who work in Petrochemical, Gas, Electricity, Utilities and Power Generation Industries. The final day for distributors, who do hold a vast array of product and market knowledge, providing the Technical Garments to end users.
Waxman took the opportunity to promote the PROTAL Partnership scheme that guarantees consistency of quality, with full traceability from yarn to final garment. Phil Briggs, from Waxman's Technical team, gave full details and explanations of why Protex fibre is used in technical blends, with the many advantages outlined. New fibre and fabric developments were discussed. The very latest generation PROTAL garments designed specifically for Flash Fire, Electric arc protection, EN471 Orange and GO/RT, including PROTAL 3 and PROTAL 5, were exhibited.
